Fresh Whelks in Garlic Butter

This makes the perfect starter


  • 400g Fresh Whelks in their shells
  • 100g Butter
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • Chopped parsley


  • First of all cook your whelks you can either steam or boil them in a little water this should take about 10 minutes.
  • Once done, melt the butter with garlic in large pan (if you have a wok use that) add the whelks and parsley and give a good stir around making sure the whelks are well coated.
  • Serve and enjoy
