Hake Steaks in a Rich Tomato Sauce


  • 4 Hake Steaks
  • 4 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tsp Tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • Splash balsamic vinegar
  • Splash red wine vinegar
  • Pinch smoked paprika
  • Pinch basil
  • Salt and pepper


  • For the sauce put all of the ingredients into a saucepan and simmer for around 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has reduced intensifying the flavours.
  • For the hake grill on either side for around 3 minutes
  • Serve in a bowl with some steamed vegetables such as sugar snap peas, mangetout or broccoli florets.
